National Stroke Survivor’s Day 2021

The National Stroke Survivor’s Day (NSSD) is an annual national day for persons living with Stroke or those affected with stroke and their carers living in Ghana. The day was instituted four years ago and is commemorated on the  16th of March every year ( the whole of March is dedicated for stroke awareness and to supporting persons living with stroke and their family) ,NSSD is aimed purposely to raise population  awareness on stroke , prevention and treatment for stroke and to champion for the rights of persons living with strokes in Ghana (through the implementation of the Global Stroke Bill of Right, GSBoR)

The 4th National Stroke Survivors Day event will be held at Sunyani in the Bono Region of Ghana under the Chairmanship of Mr. Kumah Amoateng Ayeh and the regional executives of  the Bono Region  Stroke Survivors Network of the Stroke Association Supportnetwork-Ghana(SASNETGhana )

Activities for the event will commence on the 8th of March  with radio and TV discussions, awareness creation , medical screening and assessment of stroke survivors ,NHIS registration and a grand durbar on the 16th of March 2021 at the Sunyani Municipal Assembly .This is a call to leave no person living with stroke  behind ,in terms of access to treatment ,rehabilitation and support.

The 4th National Stroke Survivor’s Day 2021 event to be held in Sunyani Bono Region  from the 8th to 16th March,2021 is organized with support from Henry Djaba  Memorial Foundation ,Ministry of Health, Non Communicable Disease Control Program of the Ghana Health Service (NCDCP-GHS) and PATH GHANA.
